T D Maughold graduated in Medicine from University College London and followed a career in surgery, working in a number of hospitals across the north of England. He first visited the Isle of Man over thirty years ago and has been a passionate follower of motorcycle racing in general and the TT Races in particular ever since. He has long held the annual pilgrimage he makes to the Island for the last week of May and first week of June to be sacrosanct and has missed only three TT meetings in the last twenty years. Over the years he has known many great riders and has been personally and practically involved in supporting the races in a number of different capacities.

He has ridden motorbikes since he was seventeen and currently owns a Triumph Daytona.

T D Maughold is now retired from medical practice and lives in the Isle of Man.
